Pinheiro Lab

Based at the Center for Marine Biology, University of São Paulo, our lab aims to study patterns and processes of the reef fish diversity, with special interest on mesophotic coral ecosystems and remote oceanic environments. Our interest and experience are in discovering and describing new species and ecosystems, assessing ecosystem health and threats, explaining the distribution of species and their eco-evolutionary drivers, always addressing challenging management goals.
